Cartridge World Sponsors the National Breast Cancer Foundation

Cartridge World’s “Round Up for Pink Ink” campaign will be the company’s first initiative to help raise funds for the cause and will run through the months of September and October 2012. The goal is to raise $100,000. The campaign will give Cartridge Worldcustomers the opportunity to donate to the National Breast Cancer Foundation by rounding up their sales transaction to the next dollar. In addition, Cartridge World will match the first $25,000 raised through the “Round Up for Pink Ink” campaign.

“In partnering with one of the leading cancer organizations in the world, we will support the foundation’s research and service initiatives – and help educate our customers about breast cancer issues,” said Frank Case, President of Cartridge World North America. “With so many people affected by breast cancer, this cause touches all of us. The “Round Up for Pink Ink” campaign gives us an opportunity to impact every community in the United States and Canada where a Cartridge World store is located.”

Founded in 1991, the National Breast Cancer Foundation is a not-for-profit organization committed to saving lives through funding research to find the cure for breast cancer, increasing awareness of breast cancer through education, and by providing mammograms to women in need.

According to the foundation, more than 200,000 women in America alone will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year – and one fifth of those will die from the disease. One woman in eight has or will develop breast cancer in her lifetime. In addition, more than 1,000 men will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year; the disease will claim nearly half diagnosed. If detected early (in the localized stage), the five-year survival rate exceeds 98 percent. Mammograms are among the best early-detection methods, yet 13 million North American women over the age of 40 have never had a mammogram.

With 600 stores across the U.S. and Canada, Cartridge World is the world’s largest specialty retailer of ink and toner printer cartridges. The company’s eco-friendly product line not only helps save the environment, but also helps consumers save money.
